Associate professor in the Faculty of Liberal Arts, Sophia University, Japan. I teach undergraduate courses in rhetoric and composition, and critical thinking. My research interests include critical thinking pedagogy, sociocultural theory, academic discourse socialization, digital literacy, academic writing, and educational policy. Over the course of my career I have taught and conducted research in Europe, North America, Asia, and the Middle East.
